Cherrys Jubilee






		2005


	Cherrys Jubilee is Monterey Counties premiere car show that attracts over 800 cars from all over the country. It’s a 1st class 3 day show in our own back yard that we take great pride participating in. There are enough activities to keep you busy all weekend!!!


	Call it luck if you want but this year, MPCC members were offered extremely prime parking real estate in the Monterey Plaza around the fountain. Perfect weather made Friday’s show n shine / cruise a PERFECT car day!


	Good luck was continued on Saturday at Laguna Seca when the club was given VIP parking around the lake between the car show and the motorcyle island. We made this parking available to any/all year Corvettes belonging to anyone, not just MPCC members.


	And to top it all off, a couple of Corvette lovers secured four of the best parking spaces offered at the Cannery Row Show n Shine Saturday night. It was a C-3 Corvette Show in itself that attracted allot of attention!

Special guests at Cherrys Jubilee 2005 included actress and actor Candy Clark and Bo Hopkins (far left).Candy was nominated for best the Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as the platinum blonde Debbie in American Graffiti. Bo played the leader of The Pharaohs gang in the movie. Both were kind enough to take a photo with MPCC members, Ken & Brady Beck. (We bribed them by letting them hold little “Sophia” ...)


	2006


	As noted above, this year, Cherry’s Jubilee became a “MotorSports Festival” which meant ALL members of our club could participate with any year Corvette. This was a huge milestone for the show and a real benefit to MPCC members.

		What’s a Porsche doing on our Corvette website? Well if you’ve never tried it, you have to come to this show and do a “Hot Lap” with one of these guys that’s willing to beat the CRAP out of his Porsche to on the Laguna Seca race track just to thrill the passenger. It was a first for club pres. Charlie Sammut and his girlfriend Heather Greaux and according to both, it won’t be the last!


	Club member, Tom Velasco. You can get some guys to do anything for a photo! Velasco! But we really do appreciate your being such a GOOD SPORT about it.
